Tiptoe Sneakers started in 2019 with one rule: make shoes that respect the pavement. No hype cycles. No celebrity co-signs. Just heat, built by the people who actually wear it.
It started in a basement on Flatbush Avenue. Three friends—a designer, a materials nerd, and someone who just really hated uncomfortable shoes—pooled their savings and bought a last-making machine off Craigslist.
The first run was 50 pairs of the Borough High, hand-stitched and sold out of a duffle bag at the DeKalb Market. They sold out in a weekend. Not because of marketing. Because people walked in them and came back for seconds.
That was the signal. Sneakers don't need billion-dollar campaigns. They need to feel right the moment your foot hits concrete.
We don't do mass production. Every Tiptoe silhouette is manufactured in runs of 150 to 500 pairs. When a colorway sells out, it's retired. We move forward.
Materials come from the same Italian tanneries and Japanese textile mills that supply houses ten times our size. The difference is we don't mark up for a logo. The price is the shoe.
Our design cycle is 90 days from sketch to shelf. No seasons. No lookbooks. Just drops, announced 48 hours before they go live. If you know, you know.
Tiptoe exists because streetwear is not a trend. It's how cities dress when no one's watching and everyone is. It's skaters in Bed-Stuy and DJs in Bushwick and kids on the L train who can spot a fake from twenty feet.
We sponsor nothing and collaborate with everyone. Local artists design our box art. Neighborhood barbershops are our pop-up locations. Our best feedback comes from the guy at the bodega who asks where you got those.
Every pair we make carries a bit of Brooklyn's sidewalk DNA. That's not branding. That's just where we're from.
Every decision runs through one filter: would we actually wear this? If the answer isn't immediate, it doesn't ship.
Hand-lasted construction, premium materials, zero shortcuts. We'd rather make 200 perfect pairs than 2,000 acceptable ones.
Tiptoe is a Brooklyn brand, not a brand that happens to be in Brooklyn. We hire local, source local, and show up local.
Small runs mean zero deadstock. Water-based adhesives. Recycled packaging. No greenwashing, just doing less damage.
